His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), on Tuesday attended a JAF ceremony to mark the 49th anniversary of Karamah Battle.

Upon arrival, King Abdullah reviewed the guard of honour in the presence of Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Hani Mulki and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat.

His Majesty was received with a military reception that included a 21-gun salute and laid a wreath at the monument.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II also commented on the occasion.

“Today, as we remember the victorious Karamah Battle, we honour the martyrs and the heroes who sacrificed for the nation #OurJordan,” the Crown Prince said in a post on his Instagram page.
