His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Saturday inaugurated the Public Security Directorate’s (PSD) hotel and chalets on Aqaba’s southern beach.

During a tour of the hotel's facilities, King Abdullah was briefed on services offered to PSD personnel and their families.

PSD Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Sarhan Faqih said the hotel had been established in accordance with royal directives to upgrade the quality of services provided to PSD cadres, including outside of official working hours.

Faqih noted that a number of similar projects will be implemented in Amman and Irbid to present the best entertainment and tourist services to PSD personnel.

The hotel, which was established on a 23-dunum plot of land, includes a shoreline island, swimming pools and children playgrounds, as well as gymnasiums for several sports facilities.

Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority Chief Commissioner Nasser Shraideh, Royal Hashemite Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi and the mayor of Aqaba attended the inauguration.
