His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received a delegation of senior officers from the US National Defense University (CAPSTONE Fellows) led by retired Gen. Gregory Martin.

The meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace, addressed current regional developments and Jordan's role in seeking peace and bolstering regional security and stability, arriving at political solutions to the crises in the Middle East.

Discussions also covered efforts to break the stalemate in the peace process by relaunching serious and effective negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis on the basis of the two-state solution—the only way to resolve the conflict.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in Syria and Iraq, and regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic strategy.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh and Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan also attended the meeting.
