King sends letter to newly appointed intelligence chief

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday sent a letter to Maj. Gen. Adnan Jundi, the newly appointed director of the General Intelligence Department.

In the letter, King Abdullah outlined the challenges facing the region, highlighting the ongoing war on terror as a main challenge and stressing the need to confront terrorism via all possible means.

This calls for maintaining public trust in the performance of the General Intelligence Department by building its capacities and developing its structure, with the aim of ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and professionalism, His Majesty said, in keeping up with the various developments and the magnitude of strategic threats.

The King added that such a mission requires working to increase coordination among all security agencies to build close cooperation and integrated joint action at all levels, voicing his support for the new intelligence chief.
