His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed the importance of the French and European role in ensuring the success of efforts that aim at putting the peace process back on its normal track. During a meeting at Bait Al Baraka with the French Foreign Minister, Michel Barnier, His Majesty said that the success of the Israeli withdrawal plan from Gaza depends mainly on implementing it within the road map peace plan, and on fully ending the occupation of all Palestinian lands. The King underlined the importance of helping the Palestinian government in rebuilding the Palestinian institutions and supporting the Palestinian economy.

His Majesty King Abdullah II received on Monday, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I, Patriarch of Antakia and the East, and Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church in the World, currently on a visit to the Kingdom to strengthen cooperation between Jordan and the Syriac Patriarchate.

His Majesty King Abdullah II met on Sunday with a US Congress delegation currently on a visit to the Kingdom within a tour to the region. During the meeting, which was attended by Minister of the Hashemite Royal Court, Sameer Rifai, Foreign Minister, Dr. Marwan Muasher and the US ambassador to Jordan Edward Gnehm, His Majesty reviewed Jordanian-US ties as well as the situation in Iraq.

His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday affirmed his support to Saudi Arabia in its drive to fight terrorism. During a telephone call with Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz, the King expressed Jordan's support to all steps taken by the Saudi government to combat terrorism and eradicate it.
