His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday met Executive Secretary General of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Mervat Tallaway, who highly appreciated King Abdullah`s continued support to the organization`s activities and programs. She extended an invitation to King Abdullah to chair ESCWA`s upcoming meeting devoted to discuss topics on information technology.

King Abdullah listened to a briefing by Tallaway on her organization`s priorities and programs for the coming period which are compatible with King Abdullah`s vision as they focus on upgrading IT training and providing basic resources such water and energy.

During the meeting, which was attended by Prime Minister, Royal Court Chief and Planning Minister, Tallaway said Jordan was the first Arab country to approve the agreement on setting up the infrastructure for a highway land road linking the Arab countries.
