His Majesty king Abdullah Leaves For Washington Tomorrow

His Majesty king Abdullah II will leave Amman for Washington on Wednesday on an official visit to the United States where he will hold talks with US President George Bush and senior officials from the US administration on the political and security situation in the region in light of the dangerous situation in the Palestinian lands.

His Majesty will also take part in the World Economic Forum in New York where he will be delivering a speech. The forum is expected to be attended by a number of world leaders and representatives from various world countries.

The King`s talks with Bush will focus on bilateral ties especially in the economic fields as well as mechanisms of joint cooperation.

His Majesty will also meet with other officials and discuss with them ways of increasing US aid to Jordan and means of further benefiting from the Free Trade Agreement with the US which entered into force recently.

King Abdullah will also meet with World Bank president to discuss economic ties between Jordan and the WB.

His Majesty`s previous visit to the US have achieved great success whether with regard to the US aid to Jordan which has substantially increased over the past years, or with regard to trade exchange and investment which also witnessed an increase.
