Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates Tuesday morning received Jordanian Prime Minister Ali Abul Ragheb who conveyed to him a letter from His Majesty King Abdullah II, which included the King`s greetings and wishes of good health to Sheikh Zayed and further progress and prosperity for UAE people.

The Royal letter pointed out to the great challenges facing the Arab nation and the importance of pooling efforts of all and forge out active Arab solidarity to confront them , in the forefront the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian people and their legitimate leadership.

Sheikh Zayed asked Abul Ragheb to convey his greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah and expressed looking forward for more coordination and cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

Sheikh Zayed and Prime Minister Abul Ragheb discussed the situation in the Palestinian territories and the Palestinian people`s suffering due to the Israeli continued aggression.

They stressed the necessity to stop the Israeli offensive and urged for Israeli forces pull out of all Palestinian cities and villages, as well as lifting the siege imposed on President Arafat. In this regard, the Prime Minister affirmed that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II acted strongly to support President Arafat, to deal with him and not to marginalize his leading role as a legitimate and elected president and a symbol of the Palestinian people.

Abul Ragheb said that Jordan uses its political relations, balanced with all, to find an outlet and a political solution to the current crisis . He pointed out that the King and government`s contacts with the concerned parties, particularly USA, have contributed to a change in the American position pertaining the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, where USA has sent Secretary of State Colin Powell to the region in order to solve the crisis.
