His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday sent a cable to US President George W. Bush to mark the first anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the US.

King Abdullah expressed Jordan's deep sympathy and solidarity with the families of the victims of the attacks.

The King also pledged the Kingdom's support for US and world efforts to fight terrorism. King Abdullah stressed in the cable that Islam is a religion of justice and tolerance and has nothing to do with terrorist acts carried out in its name.
