King Holds Talks with Solana

His Majesty King Abdullah II Held talks on Tuesday with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana within the framework of the European efforts for reviving the peace process in the Middle East.

During the meeting, The King and Solana affirmed the importance of exerting more and more efforts to speed up the implementation of the roadmap as one integrated package. And they affirmed the importance of the commitment to this peace plan by all parties.

The King described the European role as vital and important in supporting the peace process in the region and he also noted to the US role and Powell's regional tour.

The King and Solana stressed the importance of removing all obstacles, and they called for re-launching peace talks on the basis of the roadmap, expected to lead to establishing a Palestinian state by the year 2005.

During the meeting, which was attended by Minister of the Royal Court Faisal Fayez and Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher, Solana praised Jordan's efforts in supporting the peace process and restoring security and stability to the region.
