His Majesty King Abdullah II received in Bait Al Bahr Palace on Wednesday Palestinain Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas and his accompanying delegation to the Aqaba summit.

During the meeting the King affirmed Jordan's supports to peace efforts in the region as well as the restoration of the Palestinian people's legitimate rights including the establishment of the independent state on their national soil by 2005.

Abbas highly appreciated King Abdullah's major efforts to back the Palestinian rights and establish comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.

The King and Abbas discussed ways to further develop bilateral cooperation particularly Jordan's assistance to the Palestinian Authority in the security, judicial and training related issues.
