His Majesty King Abdullah concluded his official visit to the Iranian Islamic Republic by holding a meeting with the supreme leader of the Islamic revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamin'i with the presence of the Iranian president Mohammad Khatimi.



The Two parties affirmed that there are many fields for bilateral cooperation and His Majesty affirmed that both countries will work for the interest of the two peoples and the Islamic nation through cooperation and coordination.



The talks also dealt with the Arab-Israeli conflict and the developments of the situation in Iraq.



His Majesty acknowledged Khatimi on the circumstances surrounding the Palestinian cause and Jordan's efforts to support peace and justice in the Middle East. Both sides agreed that the situation in Iraq is really dangerous and that efforts must be exerted by everybody to give the Iraqis the right to self determination.



Khatami expressed relief for the development in bilateral relations adding that Iran looks forward to enhancing political, economic, cultural and social fields. Both parties had similar points of view in regards of enhancing joint Islamic efforts and unifying the Islamic nation's efforts to serve the interest of Muslims.



Earlier on Wednesday, King Abdullah visited a military industries exhibition in Tehran which shows the progress in this industry.



Jordan and Iran issued a joint communique on Wednesday stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation in the various fields for the interest of the two countries. The two parties also called for emptying the Middle East of mass destruction weapons. The two parties hoped for the establishment of a legitimate Iraqi government to take control of the situation and called for maintaining the unity of Iraqi lands. They also affirmed the importance of granting Palestinians their legitimate rights and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
