King begins Morocco visit

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday arrived in Rabat on an official visit to Morocco upon an invitation from King Mohammed VI.

Upon arrival at the Rabat-Salé Airport, King Abdullah was received by King Mohammed VI and Prince Moulay Rachid.

Along the road through which the royal motorcade passed on the way to the palace, people crowded the sidewalks to welcome His Majesty.

An official ceremony was held at the Royal Palace to receive the King, where the artillery fired a 21-gun salute and the Royal Jordanian and Moroccan national anthems were played.

At the palace, several senior officials and officers, as well as ambassadors received His Majesty.

The King is accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Mohammad, His Majesty’s personal envoy and religious affairs adviser, the Prime Minister, the Royal Hashemite Court Chief, the National Security Adviser and General Intelligence Department Director, His Majesty’s special adviser, and the National Policies Council Rapporteur

On Wednesday evening, King Mohammed VI hosted a dinner banquet in honour of His Majesty and the accompanying delegation, which was also attended by a number of senior Moroccan officials.

In Amman, His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent.
