His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday sent a letter to the outgoing intelligence chief, Faisal Shobaki, thanking him for his dedication and work to safeguard the security and accomplishments of Jordan against saboteurs, and “protect our people from the Khawarij of this age and other terrorist groups”.

The work of the General Intelligence Department under the command of Shobaki, King Abdullah added, brought safety and security to Jordan amidst a “burning region”.

His Majesty wished Shobaki good luck as he assumes a new post.
