King receives delegation from European Parliament

His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received the Friends of Jordan group and the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries at the European Parliament, and discussed Jordanian-European ties and the latest regional and international developments.

The meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace, covered the need to boost cooperation between Jordan and the EU, especially in the economic field, and continue coordination on regional and international issues to achieve security and stability in the Middle East and the world.

Discussions also addressed the peace process and efforts to revive Palestinian-Israeli negotiations.

King Abdullah reaffirmed the importance of intensifying efforts to relaunch serious and effective negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis, based on the two-state solution as the only way to the end the conflict.

The meeting dealt with crises facing the region and efforts to seek political solutions, in addition to the impact of the Syrian refugee crisis on Jordan and the efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic approach.

The delegates expressed appreciation for His Majesty’s efforts to enhance Jordanian-EU relations, and his work to reach just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh and Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan also attended the meeting.
