King holds talks with Custodian of Two Holy Mosques in Riyadh

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday held talks with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh that focused on regional issues and the brotherly, historical ties between Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

During talks attended by senior officials on both sides, King Abdullah and King Salman expressed pride in the advanced level of relations, stressing their keenness to strengthen cooperation in all fields.

Discussions also focused on the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia on various issues of mutual concern, in service of the two countries and peoples, and the Arab nation and its just causes.

His Majesty emphasised Jordan's support for Saudi Arabia, expressing appreciation for the country’s efforts, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to support joint Arab action and enhance prospects for achieving peace in the region.

Talks also covered the overall challenges and crises in the region, and efforts to reach political solutions that restore security and stability for its peoples.

King Salman hosted a luncheon in honour of His Majesty, as well as Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai; Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan; and Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia Demeke Mekonnen. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is also deputy prime minister and minister of defence, attended the luncheon.
