His Majesty King Abdullah II arrived in Moscow Tuesday on a brief working visit to the Russian Federation for talks with President Vladimir Putin on ways to enhance Jordanian-Russian relations and on other regional issues with special reference to the current efforts to resume Palestinian-Israeli peace talks.

King Abdullah؟s visit is complementary to the King؟s fruitful talks he held in Moscow during his past visit in last August, Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Alexander Sultanov said in a statement to Petra correspondent. Talks between the two leaders will focus on ways and means to further cement bilateral relations, he added. Developments on the international scene after the Sept 11 attacks on the United States necessitated a deeper Jordanian-Russian dialogue, the Russian diplomat said. The talks, he added will also touch upon the situation in the Palestinian territories and efforts to revive the peace process.
