His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday said Jordan was steadily moving ahead with reform and modernization, saying that the citizens' needs should top the government's priorities.

King Abdullah was meeting with Prime Minister Adnan Badran, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff General Khalid Sarayreh, Public Security Department Director Lieutenant General Mohammad Aitan, Director of the General Intelligence Department Major General Samih Asfoura.

The meeting was attended by Chief of the Royal Court Faisal Fayez and King's Adviser on Security Affairs and Director of the National Security Field Marshal Saad Kheir.

Reiterating that reform requires unified efforts, the King told the senior officials that the process' positive results should be reflected on the citizens' living conditions and the economy.

His Majesty said Jordanians are looking forward to seeing the government's plans and strategies focused on developing their areas.

“This must top the government's priorities,” he stressed.

King Abdullah said Jordan was on the right track and that “we will do whatever it takes to tackle obstacles facing our national drive,” he emphasized, adding that maintaining the Kingdom's security and stability is key to improve the national economy.
