King arrives in Saudi Arabia

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday arrived in Saudi Arabia, where he will participate in an emergency Islamic summit in Mecca today. The King will attend the opening session of the summit before beginning a tour of Asia that will include Japan, China and Thailand. His Royal Highness Prince Ali Ben Al Hussein will head the Jordanian delegation after the opening session concludes, and he will also deliver a speech on behalf of King Abdullah. The summit is expected to discuss enhancing joint Islamic efforts, the challenges facing Islamic countries and how to spread global awareness of the fundamental principles of Islam.
