King attends military drill

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), attended a military exercise carried out on Monday night by the 61st Royal Raiders Battalion.

King Abdullah, accompanied by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat and His Royal Highness Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein, was briefed on the measures taken to conduct the drill.

The live fire exercise featured the utilisation of different firearms, as well as aerial cover by attack helicopters and reconnaissance aircraft, with the participating personnel displaying impeccable skill and accuracy.

At the conclusion of the drill, His Majesty praised the advanced level and professionalism of JAF formations, and their readiness to undertake their duties efficiently.

His Majesty also commended JAF personnel’s high morale and the level of coordination among the army’s different units.

Senior JAF officers also attended the exercise.
