King condoled by French president over Fuheis, Salt martyrs

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron, in which the French leader expressed his condolences over the martyrs killed in the Fuheis terror attack and the Salt raid on the hideout of the terrorist cell behind it.

President Macron also affirmed France’s support for Jordan.

In addition, the phone call covered bilateral ties and regional developments.

King Abdullah and President Macron discussed efforts to push the peace process forward.

His Majesty stressed the importance of relaunching Palestinian-Israeli negotiations based on the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Discussions in the phone call covered the importance of international community support for UNRWA to sustain its educational, health, and relief services for Palestinian refugees.

Efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic approach were also discussed.
