His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received a phone call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and discussed the latest developments related to Jerusalem.

In the phone call, the two sides reaffirmed the importance of supporting the Palestinians and safeguarding Jerusalem, in line with the outcomes of the recent Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Summit, and the General Assembly of the United Nations’ vote to reject the US decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

King Abdullah and President Erdoğan agreed to continue coordinating joint efforts and to work together to preserve the status quo in Jerusalem.
