The King Hails Government`s Steps to Reinvigorate National Economy

His Majesty King Abdullah II Thursday expressed comfort over the government`s steps taken to reinvigorate national economy despite existing formidable challenges that stormed the region and the world, pledging support for the governmental reformist programmes.

The King`s remarks came upon presiding over Cabinet session , and added 2002 will witnesses the holding of general parliamentary elections, noting " we have to embark on preparations from now to ensure the participation of all citizens and to hold the electoral balloting with fairness and transparency. The government has charted socio-economic development plans and began work, what we need is to accelerate achievement . I hope international aid will help us to carry out this ambitious scheme ".

The Monarch voiced the urgent need to rejuvenate vital economic sectors, which will have a positive impact on enhancing the citizens` social situation.

"Top priority should be given to improve the judiciary , municipalities, and vocational training and to foster the execution of energy, oil, water, health and education ventures, "he pointed out , saying " it is extremely necessary to embark on the implementation of the e-government". The Prime Minister Ali Abul Ragheb for his part said the government will act upon Royal directives as stated in the Letter of Designation and to adhere to the King`s vision to improve domestic economic situation. " Jordan`s supreme interests and honorable life for citizens top government`s priorities ," he pointed out.
