King Holds Talks With UAE President

His Majesty King Abdullah II discussed with President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan the dangerous situation in the Palestinian lands and the aggression facing the Palestinian people.

The King and Sheikh Zayed condemned the Israeli military escalation policy as well as the continuation of the aggression practiced by the Israeli government against the Palestinians.

During the meeting which was attended by the Prime Minister, Royal Court chief and a number of princess, the two leaders underlined the importance of a quick international move with a view to end violence and the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.

The two sides also discussed the current efforts and initiatives that aim at containing the crisis and ending the cycle of violence. They stressed support for the initiative of the Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Asia which received both an Arab and international support.

King Abdullah and President Zayed also underlined the importance of unifying Arab efforts to ensure the success of the Beirut summit and come up with a unified Arab position to present a just vision towards just and comprehensive peace which is rejected by Israel.

Talks also touched upon bilateral ties as well as joint cooperation between the two countries.

His Majesty had earlier visited Dubai where he condoled UAE Deputy President Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum over the passing away of his son Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum who died last month.

Sheikh Maktoum expressed thanks and appreciation for His Majesty for his kind gesture which reflects the strong brotherly ties between the two countries.
