His Majesty King Abdullah said that building a stable, secure Iraq would be a success enjoyed not only by Iraq alone, but by Jordan and the entire region.

During a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari on the sidelines of the UN World Summit, the King stressed that Jordan supports the efforts of Iraq to counter terrorist organizations that aim to destabilize the country.

The King and the Iraqi premier also discussed ways of bolstering bilateral ties, especially in the economic and security spheres, and reiterated their commitment to cooperation in security affairs.

Prime Minister Al-Jaafari, during a meeting with the delegation accompanying King Abdullah, praised the King's efforts to support the reconstruction of Iraq, and said that Prime Minister Adnan Badran's recent visit to Iraq exemplified Jordan's support for his country. He also commended the King for convening the International Islamic Conference in July, which gathered representatives from all Islamic sects, who united to renounce violence and extremism.
