His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, met on Monday with Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako of Japan.

The meeting covered Jordanian-Japanese ties of friendship, with King Abdullah and Crown Prince Naruhito noting the advanced level of relations, which date back 64 years.

His Royal Highness Prince Omar bin Al Feisal attended the meeting.

Crown Prince Naruhito is set to become the next emperor of Japan after his father, Emperor Akihito, abdicates next year.
