His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday received Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan Mian Raza Rabbani at Al Husseiniya Palace and discussed bilateral ties, as well as current regional developments.

At the meeting, attended by Senate President Faisal Fayez, King Abdullah affirmed Jordan’s keenness to advance the level of cooperation with Pakistan, especially in economic, defence-related, parliamentary, and legislative areas.

Discussions covered regional developments, including the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem, as well as efforts to reach political solutions to regional crises.

Regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic strategy were also discussed.

Rabbani stressed the importance of the Palestinian cause and the issue of Jerusalem, noting that any measures to alter the status quo in the holy city will undermine peace efforts and have negative implications on security and stability in the region and the world.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh; Senator Ghazi Tayyeb, who is a member of the Jordanian-Pakistani brotherhood committee at the Senate; and the accompanying Pakistani delegation attended the meeting.
