His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received a letter from Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh, in response to a letter from His Majesty.

In the letter, Hawatmeh expressed gratitude for the confidence King Abdullah placed in him by approving his appointment as PSD director.

The new PSD director expressed commitment to implementing His Majesty’s directives to merge the General Directorate of the Gendarmerie and the Civil Defence Directorate into the PSD.

He added that the necessary restructuring and modernisation will be executed to implement the merger, with the goal of positively impacting citizens’ lives and ensuring professionalism and better security coordination.
