His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, on Wednesday received the national martial arts sports team that achieved outstanding results in the 18th Asian Games held in Indonesia, winning 12 medals.

At a meeting held at Al Husseiniya Palace, King Abdullah expressed his appreciation to all who contributed to these distinctive achievements, including athletes, coaches, and administrators.

His Majesty also noted that these achievements—winning the biggest medal haul for Jordan at the Asian Games—put the Kingdom on the map of international sporting events and have made all Jordanians proud.

During the meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, president of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), and Her Royal Highness Princess Zeina Rashid, who oversees Jordan’s Olympic Preparation Department, the King stressed the importance of developing further programmes to prepare players and enhance the role of sports federations to achieve more positive results for Jordanian sports.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Adviser to His Majesty and Director of the Office of His Majesty Manar Dabbas, and JOC Secretary General Nasser Majali attended the meeting.
