King receives Singapore defence minister

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received Minister for Defence of Singapore Ng Eng Hen, and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation, especially in military fields.

The two sides affirmed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic strategy.

King Abdullah said extremists exploit Islamophobia to serve their terrorist agenda.

The meeting also covered developments in the region.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and the accompanying Singaporean delegation, which included Senior Minister of State for Defence and Foreign Affairs Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, attended the meeting.
