King receives two US senators

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday received Senator James Inhofe and Senator Michael Enzi of the United States, and their accompanying delegation at Al Husseiniya Palace.

Discussions covered the strategic ties between Jordan and the United States, and means to expand cooperation in various fields.

During the meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, King Abdullah thanked the United States for supporting Jordan, especially in terms of boosting military cooperation.

Discussions also touched on regional developments, foremost of which are efforts to push the peace process forward and the importance of the United States’ role in this regard.

The two sides discussed regional crises and efforts to resolve them politically to restore stability and security to the region and its peoples.

The meeting covered the Syrian refugee crisis as well, and the additional pressures it has caused on Jordan’s economy and limited resources.

Moreover, discussions addressed regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic strategy.

The delegates expressed appreciation for Jordan’s efforts, led by His Majesty, to achieve peace and bolster security and stability in the region.

Royal Hashemite Court Fayez Tarawneh and Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan attended the meeting.
