His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday sent letters to Their Royal Highnesses Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, and Prince Talal bin Muhammed after they were retired from the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF).

In the letter to Prince Feisal, King Abdullah praised his services as commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force and as assistant to the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff.

His Majesty also praised Prince Ali’s services in the Special Forces and the Royal Guard, and Prince Talal’s services as military secretary to the late King Hussein and as a Special Forces officer.

The King said it had been an honour to serve alongside Prince Feisal, Prince Ali, and Prince Talal in the Arab Army, stressing continued commitment to upgrade and enhance the JAF’s capabilities.

As part of these efforts, work is underway to modernise, develop, and restructure the JAF, His Majesty said in the letters, noting that the retirement of Prince Feisal, Prince Ali, and Prince Talal is in line with this endeavour.

Restructuring entails unifying army leadership, cutting cost, and reshaping the leadership hierarchy for the coming years, the King added in the three letters.

After retirement, His Majesty said Prince Feisal, Prince Ali, and Prince Talal can go on to continue serving the country in other capacities.

Prince Feisal was awarded the honorary rank of lieutenant general, while Prince Ali and Prince Talal were awarded the honorary ranks of major general.
