King visits Northern Military Zone

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), visited the 2nd Border Guards Brigade at the Northern Military Zone on Monday.

King Abdullah was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, the zone’s commander, Brig. Gen. Khaled Masaeid, and a number of senior JAF officers.

His Majesty inaugurated an administrative building in the area constructed upon royal directives to serve JAF personnel.

The King was briefed by the director of the Directorate of Housing Establishment and Military Works, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Bashabsheh, on a number of housing and road projects implemented by the JAF to serve the Border Guards.

The projects are powered by alternative energy resources to save electricity costs.

His Majesty was also briefed on the Border Guards unit’s duties and the armaments used by its personnel.

The King praised the advanced level of JAF units and formations, as well as the high morale of their personnel, affirming his pride in the soldiers who risk their lives to protect the country and safeguard its security.
