His Majesty King Abdullah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday held a trilateral meeting to examine ways to coordinate joint efforts to push the peace process forward.

Talks, held on the sidelines of the 28th Arab Summit, underlined the need to relaunch the Arab Peace Initiative as a strategic Arab option to arrive at comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East, as affirmed by the Amman Declaration issued at the end of the 28th Arab Summit.

The three leaders emphasised the importance of intensifying efforts to revive serious and effective negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis, based on the two-state solution as the only way to end the conflict.

King Abdullah, Sisi, and Abbas also stressed the importance of maintaining the historical status quo in Jerusalem, noting that any attempt to change it will have negative implications on the security and stability of the whole region.

Talks also underlined the importance of shaping common Arab visions to address regional crises and to reach political solutions that restore security and stability.

During a one-on-one meeting, His Majesty and the Egyptian president discussed ways to enhance cooperation.

They emphasised the need to maintain coordination and consultation on various issues of common concern, in a manner that serves the wider Arab nation and achieves security and stability for its peoples.
