King receives Italian interior minister

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday met with Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti at Al Husseiniya Palace and discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, especially in defence and security.
 
Discussions also covered the developments related to Jerusalem, after the United States decided to recognise the city as Israel’s capital and move its embassy to it.
 
The two sides exchanged views on regional crises, particularly the developments in Libya and efforts to stabilise the country.
 
In addition, the meeting covered regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic strategy.
 
Interior Minister Minniti expressed Italy’s appreciation of Jordan’s pivotal role, led by King Abdullah, in bringing security and stability to the region.
 
Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Interior Minister Ghaleb Zu'bi, Italian Ambassador in Amman Giovanni Brauzzi, and the accompanying visiting delegation attended the meeting.
