His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday attended a ceremony at Al Husseiniya Palace to change the name of the Quick Reaction Force Brigade into the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Brigade.

The new name is a reflection of the deep brotherly ties between the two countries and in appreciation of the United Arab Emirates’ and Sheikh Mohamed’s support for JAF and security agencies, especially through military housing and training projects.

During the ceremony, King Abdullah and Sheikh Mohamed presented the new Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Brigade Flag to the flag-bearer.

Formed in 2014 as the Quick Reaction Force Battalion, it became a brigade in 2017, with a number of battalions under it.

Several officials and officers, as well as the delegation accompanying Sheikh Mohamed, attended the ceremony.
