King receives Panama VP

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received Vice President and Foreign Minister of Panama Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado at Al Husseiniya Palace and discussed means to bolster cooperation.

King Abdullah expressed Jordan’s keenness to advance cooperation with Panama at the political, economic, and tourism levels, noting the importance of the recent opening of Panama’s embassy in Amman.

Discussions also covered regional issues, especially the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem.

His Majesty stressed the need to reach just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution that leads to an independent Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The importance of reaching a political solution in Syria that preserves its territorial integrity and the unity of its people was also stressed.

Discussions covered efforts to counter terrorism within a holistic approach and the need to step up international cooperation and coordination in this regard.

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Adviser to His Majesty and Director of the Office of His Majesty Manar Dabbas, the accompanying Panamanian delegation, and Panama’s Ambassador to Jordan attended the meeting.
